Medalel won the deputy champion title in the youth category for shooting in a prone position in three situations and reached the same score as the world championship; however, due to the scoring in the later groups, he came in second.

Lior graduated from Mor Metrowest High School and is currently serving in the IDF.  He has been involved in this field since age 14 and trains at the municipal shooting range located at 48 Hahistadrut Street.
