: During the summer vacation, the Raanana Municipality runs a unique project for the city’s high school students. As part of the municipal project, 80 teenagers are employed at various municipal frameworks. This is a joint project with the Social Services Division, the Youth Department at the Culture Division, the Department for Youth Advancement and the Human Resources Department at the Raanana Municipality.
The project, in its 5th consecutive year, is designed to help youth by creating a significant framework for them during their summer vacation, which includes productive work for a salary and contribution to the community. The teenagers were assigned to work at preschools (assistants), at Raanana Park, at public parks (gardening) and in the infrastructure divisions (maintenance work).
Prior to beginning their jobs, the teens attended a training day organized by the Raanana Municipality’s Youth Advancement Department, designed to prepare them for work, including subjects such as work conditions, behavior in the workplace, safety in the workplace, etc.
Mayor Nahum Hofree: “This is a praiseworthy municipal project, which creates significant frameworks for teenagers during their summer vacation, exposing them to the world of employment, while developing values that they will take with them in the future, such as personal responsibility, commitment, diligence, meeting deadliness, etc.”
