Last weekend, hundreds of spectators packed the Aviv Sports Auditorium to watch the biggest gymnastics, acrobatics and dance performance of the year: the 2007 Gymnastrada.

150 athletes participated in the performance, including the guest of honor, the Russian team - the world champion in gymnastics and acrobatics, along with top teams from all across the country, who gave breathtaking virtuoso showcase performances. Among the groups participating were "General Gymnastic" and Raanana's artistic gymnastics team, the Sufa Nes Ziona troupe, the Hod Hasharon gymnastics team, the Mazkeret Batya gymnastics team and Snunit - the Modi'in acrobatics team.

The event was organized by the Municipal Sports Authority and once again, the event's profits, NIS 21,500, were donated to the "Keren Roi Lo Echsar" Foundation, which helps Raanana's students in various areas related to their studies.

Mayor Nahum Hofree: "This spectacular athletic performance, along with the hospitality and contribution to the community are a source of pride for the entire city and for any mayor. I congratulate the members of the Russian team who have honored us with their participation and I hope they have a nice visit here." Hofree thanked the audience for its participation and its contribution to "Keren Roi", whose heartwarming activity helps young people to reach their potential, to overcome their obstacles and to succeed in their endeavors.
