Thanks to the joint work of the security patrols and the police, the suspects were apprehended while trying to steal property from a Raanana home

The municipal security patrols, in cooperation with the police, caught four suspects, “red handed”, on Szold Street, attempting to break-in and steal from one of the homes on the street.

The event took place last week during the afternoon hours, when a resident came in to the city’s southern region police station and reported that she had noticed a suspicious vehicle near her place of residence.

Following this report, a security patrol unit and the police were dispatched to the area and after a half hour of observation and monitoring the suspicious vehicle, two suspects were apprehended who were sitting in the vehicle.  At the same time, two suspects were observed on the roof of one of the houses on the street and they were brought down off the roof and arrested by security patrol unit and the police.  After their arrest, a great deal of the items were found near the door of the house.

The four suspects, residents of the Sharon region, in their twenties, were transferred for arrest by the police, which is investigating their possible involvement in other cases of burglary.

The municipal security patrols operate on Raanana’s streets, 24/7, and are trained to provide immediate solutions to the various security and safety needs.  In another case that occurred recently, the security patrols helped a 3-week old baby, who experienced trouble breathing.  Magen David Adom, which had received the call, transferred the information immediately to the security patrols, which arrived at the house, within minutes.  The grandmother was at home and the medics performed CPR on the baby and helped to calm down the worried grandmother.  The baby was transferred by Magen David Adom in good condition, for continued treatment at the hospital.

Mayor Nahum Hofree:  “The municipal patrol units are an example of diligence and the highest level of professionalism, helping to meet the needs of the city in real time.  The Raanana Municipality considers cooperation with the police to be of utmost importance and we will continue to offer our assistance to ensure the safety of our residents.”
