: A new municipal initiative to help the needy in the community. The Social Services Division will collect old or damaged computers and computer accessories, and repair them for reuse at the homes of Raanana’s needy families.
The idea was initiated by Raanana resident, Meshulam Levi, a pensioner who volunteers at the Social Services Division. The Raanana Municipality has enthusiastically adopted this idea and invites residents to contribute their old computers and computer equipment, such as keyboards, mouse, etc. The old equipment will be checked and repaired by a volunteer computer technician, with the volunteer assistance of the Oren Technologies’ computer lab. The repaired equipment will return to the community, and presented to families under the supervision of the Social Services Divisions, including seniors.
The first computer has already been upgraded and repaired and is currently being used by a Raanana senior citizen.
Residents interested in donating a computer and computer equipment should contact the volunteer coordinator at the Social Services Division, Moshe Mor, Tel: 09-7610403.
Mayor Nahum Hofree: “Raanana is known as an involved community engaged in volunteer activity, and I invite residents to donate and assist families in need. In this way, we can empower our activity on behalf of the community and put a smile on the faces of many families.”
