Hundreds of young people participated in the youth organizations and movements day that included workshops in which they made instruments and games from recycled materials and heard lectures on how to protect nature on hikes

About 150 Raanana youth participated in the Youth Movements and Organizations Day organized by the Youth and Young Adults Department, in order to promote the subjects of sustainability and environmental protection among counselors and young people.  The activity was held in cooperation with the Environmental Protection Division.

Many young people packed the Municipal Youth Center, from all the city’s youth movements and leadership organizations and participated in a variety of workshops and lectures on the subject.  The knowledge they gained will be passed on to their younger members in various activities.

The youth participated in preparing instruments and games from old clothing and objects, heard lectures on ecological films, tips for protecting the environment while on hikes, the use of natural materials, consumption and creating accessories from recycled materials during their activities.

Mayor Nahum Hofree:  “This event is part of the extensive municipal activity for the younger generation, designed to instill wise, considerate and responsible behavior with respect to the environment and their futures.  The involvement of so many people in such activities proves our success in bringing about a social change.”
