As part of the activity, the youth collected citrus fruits from Raanana residents’ yards and gardens that were transferred to the needy

Many teens from Raanana, members of the Israeli Scouts youth movement, volunteered in the Orange Brigade project, to help the needy, as part of a joint effort of the Youth and Young Adults Division and Leket Israel – for the 2nd consecutive year!

The Orange Brigade is a project run by Leket Israel, an organization engaged in food rescue that is transferred to Israel’s needy.

Members of the Hadar and Ofek groups and their counselors, volunteered to collect fruit from the yards of private homes and from the city’s public gardens, which was in turn delivered directly to the city’s needy.

Mayor Nahum Hofree:  “Raanana youth is a model of involved, caring youth volunteering out of a sense of social responsibility and commitment to others.  Throughout the year, Raanana students are involved in various volunteer projects and I am proud of the large part our Raanana youth plays in such activity that gives back to the community.”
