‘A Computer for Every Child’ is a project run by the National Association for Social Development sponsored by the Prime Minister’s Office. The project began operation in 1995 and each year, it distributes computers to needy families in Israel’s cities and localities, from all sectors of the population. To date, 36,000 computers have been granted in 165 cities and localities. In addition to the computers, the children receive software kits and instruction. The Raanana Municipality is a partner in the funding of the project together with the association and the government.
Mayor Nahum Hofree congratulated the children and noted that “today another 13 children will benefit from new computers, and in this way, we take another important step on our journey to becoming a society of equal opportunities. We will continue to work together with the Computer for Every Child Project on behalf of promoting our younger generation in our modern technological world.”
