The Municipal Youth Center offers students in grades 4-8 to experience of the dramatic world led by the best drama teachers, directors and creators

For the first time, the Municipal Youth Center will offer Orna Porat’s quality theater workshops for children and youth, designed for students in grades  4-8.  The unique workshops offer the students an extraordinary experience and they will focus on the development of dramatic skills in a professional and creative manner, taught by a team of teachers, directors and creators from the world of theater.

Participation in the workshops will enable the city’s children to enrich their spiritual world and it will cultivate a younger generation that will become a theater loving population in particular,  and cultural consumers in general.

This program is designed for students who love the theater and are interested in exploring their talent, while developing various performing skills such as:  acting, singing and movement.  The workshops will include master classes and enrichment workshops, the members will watch new plays, meet with the creators and put on a end-of-year performance in the theater’s auditorium.

The Orna Porat Theater for children and youth is the oldest repertory theater in Israel for the younger population.  The theater was established in 1970 by actress and Israel Prize Recipient, Orna Porat, and the Education Minister at that time, the late Yigal Alon.   Throughout its years of operation, hundreds of plays have been put on – on a highly professional level.

Students are invited to the orientation meeting to be held on Monday, 8.2.10 at 18:30 at the Beit Hanoar Hamercazi.

Mayor Nahum Hofree:  “The Raanana Municipality continues its extensive activity to expand the cultural programs for the city’s children, in order to offer rich content to the younger generation and to cultivate both artistic and cultural values by an encounter with artistic creativity.”
