: A new exhibition entitled Design 2010 -5 Elements will open soon at Raanana’s Gallery by the Lake. The group exhibition was inspired was inspired by the five elements of life, according to Chinese philosophy. Chinese philosophy organizes reality as a connection of man and nature in one unified system. The elements are: wood, fire, earth, metal and water.
Each element feeds the other in a cyclical system and has a relationship that impacts the four other elements: water makes the wood grow, wood feeds the fire, fire create ash and earth and metal is produced from the earth, metal is used to transport water from the depths of the earth to irrigate the trees and so forth.
IN this exhibition, the artist present original artwork and artifacts that suit the Chinese philosophy, according to the elements, whether in terms of the artworks lines or in the selection of materials, shape and color.
Designers from a wide range of fields will participate in this exhibition and it will be a spectacular display of materials formed into a useful object in artistic form. The objects are characterized in their position, which is a passage between art and design art, connecting the connection of man and nature, the dynamics of flow and mutual impact of spirit and material.
The exhibition is multi-hued, interdisciplinary and multi-cultural, providing a platform for the creative space that combines Chinese philosophy – a subject that has challenged artist to move beyond artistic sources, even breaking up perfection in order to reach the proper balance between the conceptual content and the representative material.
The artists include: Moshe Shak, Prof. Aryeh Ofir, Novoya Yamaguchi, Jacques Zano, Jeremy Langford, Gad Olman, Kineret Avivi, Tzachi Kirshon, Yifrach Ben Tzvi, Tami Keidar, Neta Ashuach, Shuli Briskin, Bernardo Skolnick, Amir Perry, Shlomit Eisenstein, Kochavit Ben Ezra, Jana Shimonov, Talma Tamari, Hagit Randler, Ruti Hazan, Anat Nitzan, Vered Laor, Anat Davidov, Ariel Zuckerman, Liat Poizner, Jojo Yosef Ohayon, Zen - Roni Gabai, Collecteco – Yossi Ginsberg.
The official opening will be held on Saturday Night 7.8.10 at 20:00 and attended by Mayor Nahum Hofree and Deputy Mayor Ronit Weintraub, director of the Culture Youth and Leisure Division.
Special sale! During the exhibition, the items on display will be sold at special prices and may be purchased at the exhibition.
