: Municipal inspectors have issued 7 tickets to youth and young people for noise violations, vandalism and insulting and threatening a public employee
The Raanana Municipality has stepped up its security and enforcement activity during the summer months, to ensure the safety of the residents, youth and public property. Most of the activity focuses on preventing noise disturbances, destroying property and the sale of alcohol after nine at night which is in violation of the municipal auxiliary law.
The municipal security patrol works throughout the city providing comprehensive ongoing and professional service 24/7. During the summer months, it has stepped up its nighttime activity and the number of patrol cars during the hours of 23:00 to 5:00 the next morning.
During the nighttime hours, an “A” level security guards patrol and secure the youth entertainment venues and all the municipal facilities open during the summer for the city’s children and youth. Additionally, security personnel will be stationed at regular spots in the city where youth gather and at Raanana Park all hours of the day.
The security patrols are manned by over 40 personnel, all former members of combat units, with a high level of availability, a quick response time and familiarity with the activity areas.
Moreover, municipal inspectors have also stepped up their efforts during the nighttime hours and are doing extensive patrols of public parks, kiosks, markets and supermarkets. As part of our tightening of our law enforcement policy, starting June 20th, the inspectors have issued 7 tickets to youth and young adults, each for NIS 430, due to noise disturbances at public parks, destruction of public property, and insulting and threatening a public employee. In the last case, the police was called in and the suspect was arrested. When the offenders are minors, the fine is sent to the parents.
Mayor Nahum Hofree: “We have decided to step up our municipal activity during the summer months in order to protect our youth during the vacation and to prevent damage to public property or to any of our residents. We will fight these phenomena with all methods at our disposal.”
