The general assembly of the Local Committee for Planning and Construction approved the project that will include 380 residential units

Last week, the general assembly of the Local Committee for Planning and Construction approved the evacuation-construction project for Geula Street located in the Kiryat Sharet neighborhood.  The project will be submitted for authorization of the subcommittee and, subsequently, according to procedure, for authorization by the regional committee.

Mayor Nahum Hofree supports this project, which will provide an appropriate, innovative and modern solution to the street’s residents in Kiryat Sharet.

There residents currently live in three ‘train-like’ buildings that include 138 residential units, ranging in size from 30 to 60 square meters.  As part of the project, Rasco Construction Ltd. will build 380 residential units – of 110 square meters on average, including a storeroom and subterranean parking for each resident.

In total, the complex will include 8 buildings, of which 3 will be 10 stories and the remainder, 8 stories.  The residential buildings will be built as part of the development program for the complex which will also include an open green public area in the center of the complex.

Mayor Nahum Hofree:  “I consider this project to be of the utmost importance.  It will provide a suitable solution to the residents who are currently living in very old dwellings.  The project is designed to improve their quality of life, as part of the urban renewal which we are promoting.  It will provide new residential units built according to a high, quality and safe building standard that will enable the city’s residents to enjoy an open and well-kept public space.”
