: THE CAMPAIGN WILL COST APPROXIMATELY ONE HALF OF A MILLION SHEKELS, DONATED BY MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITIES
Volunteer organizations, synagogues, associations and private volunteers are getting ready for the city's annual Passover campaign, in conjunction with the Raanana Municipality's Social Services Department, which prepares food packages for needy families. The campaign will cost approximately one half of a million shekels, and will be donated by members of the city's communities.
The food packages include matzos, wine, sugar, oil, matzo flour, soup mix, coffee and tea, canned food, and vouchers for chickens, which were bought in bulk at reduced prices from wholesalers and some products were donated by factories and food companies.
In addition, the Municipality will organize a telephone fundraising campaign headed by the mayor, and the Municipal Moked 107 will accept contributions to the campaign fund and will register volunteers for distribution. The packages will be distributed to about 700 Raanana families, selected in conjunction with the Municipality's Welfare Division, which maintains an ongoing relationship with the families and assists them throughout the year.
The donations will be used to purchase the products, which will be packaged by soldiers who will volunteer for the campaign. They will be delivered to the families by the soldiers together with Raanana residents. The distribution of the packages will be on Monday and Tuesday, 26.3.07-27.7.07, from 16:00 to 21:00 at the distribution warehouse at the end of Rashi Street, corner Katzin, which has been used by the organizers of the campaign in recent years.
Residents interested in helping out by contributing money and/or distributing packages are invited to contact Vivi Mann at 054-4874090.
The Raanana Municipality wishes all the city's residents a happy and kosher Passover, in the spirit of giving and contribution.
