About 700 summer jobs were found for young people

Hundreds of young people packed the annual employment fair for Raanana’s youth, for teenagers aged 16 and older.  The fair, which is the initiative of the Municipal Youth Council and the Municipal Youth Department, was held last week at the Youth Center at Gan Hanesi’im Park, in order to provide as many summer job offers as possible.

Over 800 summer jobs were on offer at the fair, an unprecedented number, for teens aged 16 and older.  The event was a huge success and helped teens find over 700 job opportunities for the summer vacation.

The fair had a carnival atmosphere and included information booths on youth labor rights and other booths offered volunteer jobs for young people during the summer.  The employment office operated a station for issuing employee cards to teens age 14 and older.

Mayor Nahum Hofree:  The Employment Fair is the joint effort of the municipality and youth representatives on behalf of the city’s young people.  It is very important to help find hundreds of young people join the workforce during the summer vacation.  This is part of our efforts to encourage commitment, personal responsibility, and independence and to contribute to the maturity of the city’s young men and women.”

Deputy Mayor Ronit Weintraub (culture, youth and leisure portfolio):  “I consider the fair and the summer employment of youth to be an important goal, and congratulate the Youth Council for its worthy endeavor and call upon young people to use the fair and to learn about their rights in the workplace
