:On May 1st, Raanana’s ALEH rhythmic gymnastic team won first places at the Israel Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship for 2010 in the competitive league category. Five girls who train at the Rimon Center participated in the competition, representing Raanana against 130 gymnasts from across Israel.
The ALEH Raanana team is one of Israel’s current leaders in the young girls categories and among its gymnasts is Vickie Marder, who is a member of Israel’s Junior Team and has represented Israel at the European Championship held in Germany.
Vickie Marder won the silver trophy – second place – and the title of Israel’s Vice Champion.
13 year old, Ina Naroditzky, won the bronze trophy – third place - in the girls’ category. Bar Danenberg finished in fifth place in the Prep 1 category.
Mayor Nahum Hofree: “My congratulations to the young gymnasts on their impressive achievements, which reflect Raanana’s principles of excellence among its younger generation. We will continue to promote both popular and competitive sports, which are a source of pride for the city and its residents.”
