: Raanana’s Aviv High School will celebrate a decade since its establishment with a reunion convention to be held on Thursday, 13.5.10, at 20:00, at the high school courtyard on 1 Haperachim Street.
The event will be attended by Mayor Nahum Hofree and school’s students, alumni, administration and faculty. During the event, films and presentation will be screened prepared by the students and alumni.
Aviv High School was founded in 2,000, and is housed in an impressive building, almost the only one of its kind in Israel. There are currently 800 students enrolled; and over the years, 1,200 students have graduated from Aviv. The name of the high school reflects its vision – Aviv – Spring – uncompromising quality and knowledge combined with values. The school is a leader in the field of excellence and personal actualization both in the academic and the values-social fields.
Over the years of activity, the school has reached impressive achievements, and has represented Israel at different international competitions. This year, Aviv has won the prestigious Chairman’s Award at the FIRST national robotics competition and the students of the robotics department have represented Israel at the international robotics competition in the U.S., on five different occasions. At the international competition, Raanana students, together with a group from the U.S., won the prestigious judges’ award. The high school’s soccer team has won the ISF championship tournament and represented Israel at the soccer world cup for high schools in 2007. Students in the environmental science department have won the Minister’s and the Environmental Protection Ministers’ Award on two occasions, for research studies they conducted.
Mayor Nahum Hofree: “The success of Aviv High School reflects the success of the municipal education system, which encourages each student to reach his/her potential and to strive for excellence in all fields – academic, values, athletic and social. I congratulate the school and wish it many long fruitful years of educational achievement.”
