: The Raanana Municipality encourages its residents to take part in the green revolution and to become involved in environmental protection.
As part of a new Raanana experimental initiative, 450 special collection containers for paper recycling have been set up in the Lev Hapark and 2005 neighborhoods and in the center of town, on Borochov, Bar Ilan and Hahistadrut Streets.
The containers have been placed in apartment buildings, and flyers explaining how to recycle paper were placed in the residents mailboxes. The blue containers are for the collection of paper refuse, such as paper wrappers, newspapers, books and notebooks.
The Raanana Municipality will empty the recycling containers regularly and send the paper for recycling. The paper will be collected by Amnir Recycling Industries. If the container fills up before the collection day, residents may notify the Municipal Moked or the Parks and Recreation Division.
This initiative is part of the municipal recycling campaign: In all the residential neighborhoods of Raanana, neighborhood recycling containers have been set up for bottles, newspaper, cardboard boxes, used batteries and material (used clothing). There has also been a container installed for the collection of electronic waste in the industrial area.
Mayor Nahum Hofree: "Raanana is proud to contribute to the protection of the environment and we encourage residents to join in this effort. This is an opportunity for us all to do our share to reduce damage to nature and the environment and to keep the surroundings green and well kept, in order to maintain a high quality of life for the city's residents."
