On Yom Kippur, the Raanana Municipality will hold symposiums with Rabbis and scholars that will be open to all the city’s residents.  Moreover, Yom Kippur service will be held for the public at the Ostrovsky High School sports hall.

• Tuesday, 14.9.10:  Between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur – Seminar for the High Holidays, at the Mishkan Uri Synagogue, from 16:30-22:00.  This event will feature the Science Minister, Rabbi and Professor Daniel Hershkovitz; Rabbi Aharon Berkowitz; Rabbi Itamar Eldar, Director of the Beit Midrash Torah V’Chaim in the Golan; Rabbi Ben Zion Elgazi, Director of Zorba D’rabanan Institute at Kerem D’Yavneh Yeshiva; Rabbi Aharon Cohen – Rabbi of Yakir; Rabbi Professor Yigal Shafran – Director of the Rabbinate’s Medicine and Halacha Department.  This seminar will be attended by Mayor Nahum Hofree and Deputy Mayor Aryeh Friedman, Director of the Informal Education Administration.

• Friday, Yom Kippur Eve, 17.9.10:  Yom Kippur in the City, at Yad LaBanim Plaza, 20:15:  “Yom Kippur Does Not Atone for Sins Between Man and his Fellow Man”, A Symposium Between Rabbis, Educators and Public Officials, hosted by Rabbi Ronen Neuwirth.  The event will be attended by Mayor Nahum Hofree and Deputy Mayor Aryeh Friedman, Director of the Informal Education Administration, City Council members, Sima Perry and Oshra Koren and Rabbi Daniel Beller.

• Yom Kippur for Everyone – Services Open to the Public at Large – 17.9.10-18.9.10:  Services will be held at the Ostrovsky High School Sports Hall.  Yom Kippur Eve:  Kol Nidrei (17:00), the next day – Shacharit, Musaf and Yizkor (from 8:30), Mincha (15:15) and Neila (16:15) with the Etz Chaim Choir.  The services will be held in a pleasant atmosphere with conversation, explanations and singing and ending the holiday with the blowing of the shofar.
