According to the Civil Defense Law – The building’s tenants are responsible for the maintenance of the apartment building’s shelter.

The municipality is authorized by the law to: inspect, supervise and enforce the Civil Defense Law and the local auxiliary law and to ensure the preparedness of the shelters at the city’s apartment buildings.

The specific guidelines and recommendations as to the best way to maintain the apartment building shelter may be found on the Home Front Command website:  www.oref.org.il

In the near future, municipal teams will be making inspections and visits to apartment buildings to ensure that the shelters are in proper working order and properly maintained.

Building committees will be updated as to their findings and will be required to repair any problems, in the event such are detected.
