Raanana has earned a reputation as one of Israel's leaders in the field of quality of life. It is a city that prides itself on its high level of education, rich cultural life and its young educated population. The Raanana Municipality has placed the creation of a municipal infrastructure on the top of its priorities. To this end, the Kiryat Etgarim project was created to develop an infrastructure suited to the development of Israel's hi-tech industry. It includes the allocation of a modern hi-tech industrial zone, development of a communications infrastructure, and quality manpower and an instruction and training program for hi-tech industries. Raanana has also invested efforts in the creation of a unique system of services for company and factory employees, development of roads, finding solutions for transportation problems, brand building and creating a network of international contacts for Raanana's "Silicon Valley".
1996 was a turning point in Raanana's history. A number of giant hi-tech companies decided to transfer their operations to Raanana, including Amdocs (formerly Orek), which is engaged in the field of communications, media and computerized information; Nice Systems, which is engaged in the development and production of computerized audio systems; HP (formerly Digital Israel and Compaq); etc.
The hi-tech park is situated on 470 dunams of land in the center of a green area, alongside Israel's Geha (4) highway, adjacent to the Open University compound and the city's old industrial zone.
The city's old industrial zone has also undergone a face-lift in recent years. The municipality has invested in the infrastructure, roads, sidewalks, lighting, parking lots, signage, and landscaping. The area is currently a business, commercial and entertainment area for the entire Sharon region. It is comprised of bank branches, large commercial chains, factory outlets, alongside hi-tech companies, offices, restaurants and entertainment centers for young people and adults.
The municipality has recognized the importance of this matter and has assumed the responsibility of assisting businessmen, developers and hi-tech companies in their move to Raanana. We are available for additional information, and would be delighted to set up a meeting with you at your convenience.
